MY PLAYLIST FOR THE WEEK:

1) “Angelus” is a song by Subway to Sally, who are a rock band with clear folk and medieval influences. The band was formed in Potsdam, Germany, in the early nineties, and the track was taken from their album “Kreuzfeuer”.

2) “Women”, by British rock band Def Leppard. From their fourth album, “Hysteria”,released in 1984. They are one of my Top Ten favourite bands. Pioneers, very talented and still “Rocking ALL Ages”!

3) “Let’s Have A Party”, is performed by American Rock and Roll artist, Chris Isaac. Taken from his “The Best of Album”, on the Reprise Record label.

4) “Coming Of The Crow”, is a song by South African rock artist, Mel Botes, and is from his album “Flight of Bird”. His rich talent as a musician, songwriter and guitarist is showcased on this album. He definitely knows how to play the guitar!!! This album was nominated for the Anglo-Gold Ashanti Awards – Aardklop 2005.

5) “Eye”, performed by South African band David’s Confession. The band consisted of Mel Botes, the brothers Conrad, Andries and Phillip (Ghapi) Botha. The album was released in July 1999 on the Primedia label. There are strong Celtic and folk influences, brilliantly combined with rock. This album is a work of art, a masterpiece.

6) “Jou Ma” is a song by Mel Botes, taken from his album “Ek like jou ma”

7) “Over The Hills And Far Away”, a great cover of the Gary Moore classic, is performed by Finnish Symphonic metal band, Nightwish. It’s from their third compilation album “Highest Hopes”

8) “Is This Love”, is a power ballad by British Rock band, Whitesnake. It’s from their epic self-titled album, released in 1987, and written by vocalist David Coverdale.

9) “Don’t Stop Believing”, is a popular power ballad by American rock band, Journey. The track was originally released as a single from their 1981 album, “Escape”. This version is from their recent double “The Best of Journey” album.

10) “Right From Wrong” is a song by Swiss hard rock band, Gotthard. Heavy stuff, Eish with an extra E!

11) “747” is a song by English Heavy Metal band, Saxon. They were formed in 1976 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, and they had huge successes in the 1980’s.

12) ‘’Doctor Doctor” is a song by British rock band, UFO. It’s from their “Phenomenon” album, released in May 1974.
