Peter Hanmer – Living For The Moment

Hi there

Acclaimed South African guitarist /songwriter Peter Hanmer’s new album, “ Living For The Moment”, is a natural and excellent successor to “Revelation”, which was released midway through 2010.

Featuring re-worked versions of tracks such as “Blueprint”, “Guiding Light” and “Ovation”, the album sees Peter exploring a more blues/rock direction, with the fantastic “Blues Suite”, which is comprised of three tracks, demonstrating the versatility and sheer class of this most gifted musician / producer, who has become highly regarded as one of South Africa’s best and most respected guitarists. His live work with Off The Edge and Clint & Co is legendary, and he has used this experience gained, together with his undoubted talent, to release an album that surely deserves its rightful place as one of the best guitar-dominant instrumental albums to have been released in South Africa in recent years.

Tasty rockers such as “Lightning Strikes”, “Bad Attitude”, which features stirling blues harp by Brad Cunningham, and bonus track “Speed Freak’’, add a fantastic balance and diversity to an album that should see Peter Hanmer finally enjoy the acclaim he so richly deserves, not only as a musician and songwriter, but as a producer as well.

With the legendary Larry Rose on drums, and Mike Dorea on bass on one track, Peter handles all guitar, bass and keyboards. This is an expertly produced and professionally recorded album that will undoubtedly be appreciated by lovers of blues, progressive and classic rock.

The album will soon be available for download on CD Baby. Actual hard copies of the album are available via the updated website,, where you can also view videos of some of the tracks.

“KINGS OF CHAOS” announces the addition of a 2nd Cape Town show – FRIDAY 7th June 2013

Hey folks,

It’s been just over 3 weeks since we announced that Rock Royalty in the form of Super Group “KINGS OF CHAOS” will be hitting our shores in June.. and the response has been phenomenal!!

So much so, in fact, that the Cape Town show on Saturday 8th June is almost SOLD OUT.. with just a few hundred General Admission tickets left..

With this in mind, we chatted to the band, and it’s now been decided that they will fly in a little earlier so that we can add an additional show in Cape Town on FRIDAY 7th June at the Grand Arena, GrandWest.

I know that a lot of Capetonians were super disappointed not to be able to secure either a seated or Golden Circle ticket before they sold out the first time round.. so here’s your second chance.. but don’t delay, get to Computicket ASAP and book!

As for the Sun City shows, well what better way to spend a long weekend than to hang out with Rock Royalty in those beautiful surrounds..?? Remember that Sunday is Father’s Day, and Monday is a Public Holiday.. so make it one to remember and join us at the shows!

“KINGS OF CHAOS” is made up of original members of iconic rock bands such as Guns n Roses, Def Leppard, Velvet Revolver, Skid Row, Deep Purple & Collective Soul!!

If you’ve always dreamed (like I have) of experiencing SLASH belt out his iconic riffs and solos on “Sweet Child of mine”, “Paradise City” & “Welcome to the jungle” alongside his Gn’R bandmates.. or wondered whether you’d ever get to see Joe Elliott from Def Leppard tear through their rock anthems like “Pour some sugar on me”, “Love Bites” or “Animal” live in SA.. now you get to experience it all.. on one stage.. on the same night.. in the perfect indoor environment..

Collectively these iconic artists have sold in excess of 300 million albums, and instead of having to pack in to a huge stadium, you will get to enjoy them in 2 of the finest indoor Arena’s in South Africa – Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town or the Super Bowl in Sun City.

FRIDAY 7th June 2013 – Grand Arena, GrandWest Casino

SATURDAY 8th June 2013 – Grand Arena, GrandWest Casino

SATURDAY 15th June 2013 – Super Bowl, Sun City

SUNDAY 16th June 2013 – Super Bowl, Sun City (Monday is a Public Holiday)

This is not a bunch of different bands entering and exiting the stage.. this is one SUPER BAND playing together as a unit, and performing their own and each other’s biggest hit songs in one gigantic 2 hour long Rock n Roll spectacle!! Sebastian Bach does lead vocals on all the GnR material, and he absolutely KILLS it! He has a fantastic vocal range! Joe Elliott sings all the Def Leppard material he’s made famous, while Glenn Hughes and Ed Roland do their Deep Purple and Collective Soul hits. With guitarist Dave Kushner joining the line-up, the band obviously throws in a few Velvet Revolver hits and even has some fun with some of the Cult songs (Matt Sorum was drummer for the Cult) along with one or two covers of stuff like Led Zeppelin, Queen etc..

It’s a real Rock n Roll feast!!

Band line-up:

GUITAR: SLASH (Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver, Slash’s Snakepit)

BASS: Duff McKagan (Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver, Loaded) *Duff performing at CT shows only*

DRUMS: Matt Sorum (Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver, The Cult)

GUITAR: Gilby Clarke (Guns n Roses)

GUITAR: Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver, Janes Addiction)

VOCALS: Joe Elliott (Def Leppard)

VOCALS: Sebastian Bach (Skid Row)

VOCALS (and BASS): Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Country Communion)

VOCALS: Ed Roland (Collective Soul)

With only a limited number of tickets available for each of the shows.. please DO NOT hesitate on this one..

Tickets on sale at Computicket now!

You have been warned..

See you at the gigs!

Patto on the RockIt Scientist Tonight

On The RockIt Scientist on Mix93.8fm Friday night, between 8pm and midnight: Special feature on one of the UK’s most interesting bands: PATTO, led by the amazing Mike Patto (vocals). This band also featured Ollie Halsall, probably one of the most brilliant and under-rated guitarists around. Might throw in a track or two by a few other bands that Mike Patto and Ollie Halsall featured with, such as Spooky Tooth, Boxer, (Jon Hiseman’s) Tempest, etc etc. Plus, of course, the usual MIX of blues, metal, prog, classic rock, etc etc. Audio streaming via, or TUNE INNNN!!!!!
